Another drabble I wrote for John. I like this one better than the Kendy one, but maybe that's just me
You really think I'd be writing fanfic if I owned South Park instead of Matt and Trey?
"Bitch!"
"Fag!"
"Slut!"
"Rump ranger!"
"Carpet-licker!"
"Gaybot!"
"Dyke!"
"Fudge-Packer!"
It carries on always. Ask anyone to name you two people to name the two kids in trouble most often for fighting each other and the answer will always be the same. Lizzy and Craig might as well be Kirk and Khan. Every day it's the same. Class will begin, and the students will settle down to work. A few minutes silence, perhaps, on a good day, and then it will begin. It's unnoticeable at first. A glint of an eye, a concealed smirk, a piece of paper scrawled with curses and insults of all origins ripped from the back of the Algebra 2 textbook, wadded up and flicked to the desk in front. And then there's trouble: shouting, screaming, physical violence when they can get away with it, lurid descriptions in its stead when this is impossible. And then the Councillor's office, the pair of them sat on moulded plastic chairs on opposite sides of the corridor, him flipping off the passersby, her slouching down on her seat, doodling on her jeans with sharpies, both scowling at each other and casually ignoring the words of the well-meaning do-gooders that have no connection to their lives whatsoever.
Then...without anyone really realising. There's more. Not much, mind you. Nothing noticeable, at least in public. But the words are somehow said with a different intonation, the projectiles miss their target more and more often. Notes are folded, and passed hand to hand. The class begin to grow suspicious. Rumours fly. They sigh, and look at each other, and begin their arguments again. The rumours die, and the world is as it should be once more. The two revel in their arguments, practising whenever possible, letting them become extravagantly volatile, all the while secretly amused that no one's noticed the "CT 4 LM" scrawled in Permanent Rose Sharpie on the left thigh of Lizzy's jeans.
