Hello everyone. Welcome to the beginning of my second story. Basically this story is a continuation of SCORPIA Rising and beyond. Slightly AU, this story is, because it is set on Long Island but there have been no other changes. So here is the first chapter.
Eight hours. That's how long it took for the flight to land in JFK. It took eight hours for my flight with Mr. Pleasure to go from London's Heathrow Airport across "the pond" and land in John F. Kennedy Airport of Queens, New York. Today was the day that I moved from England to America to live with the Pleasures on Long Island in Plainview, New York (Where my summer home is so I have a lot of knowledge on the area).
I was at the baggage claim when I heard Sabina, "Alex! Oh, Alex are you okay? How was your flight?" Sabina is running toward me with a worried expression on her face. Even though I can't see her, I know her so well I could tell.
I picked up my bag and turned in time to see her jumping up at me, she has gotten faster so I had to drop my bag and take a couple steps back to catch her and stop from falling flat on my ass.
After about what felt like five minutes Sabina was content with the time she spent hugging me and she put her hands on my shoulders and extended her arms, looking into my newly dead eyes, and she asked again, "Alex, seriously, you okay?"
All I could manage at the moment is a nod. I still don't feel comfortable talking. To be honest, I don't think I could talk if I wanted to. I'm still very much overwhelmed with the after effect of my last mission; specifically the fact that jack is gone. If I didn't see it happen with my own eyes, I don't think that I would believe the person who told me. But alas, Jack is dead and now I am going to live with the Pleasures in their home in New York with them.
It took an hour to drive from the airport to their house, I mean 'our' house, and now I was told by Mrs. Pleasure to just put my stuff down in the second room on the left of the upstairs hall, my new bedroom. After I put my luggage down I walked back down the stairs to the kitchen. The kitchen had dull red and orange ceramic tiles all over the floor and light brown cabinets all over. The counters in the room were all topped with granite and the table was all wood.
"Alex come over here, let me give you a tour," said Edward from behind me.
I nodded my head again and followed him throughout the house, pausing to point out things I was curious about, still not talking. One thing I pointed out was the weird six foot by six foot based pyramid which had twine lining the insides except the bottom, which was on its side, the bottom facing the back door I was looking out of. Turns out that in was, in fact, lacrosse net, the goal in a sport that Sabina picked up when they moved here two years prior.
Finally the tour was over. The house was very interesting, yes, but I am exhausted. All I want to do is lie down on my bed and take a nap. So I walked back up the stairs to my room and closed the door. Five seconds later the door opened up again and Sab walked in looking ready to have a debate. Joy.
"Alex, look, I know you must be tired and all, but I really want to know. Where are we with our relationship?"
At this all I did was grunt and put my head into my pillow, knowing that I would have to talk this out. "Okay, right now I just want to…
AN: Okay, there it is. A short chapter, but it's only the first and it's really late anyway. Sorry for the cliffhanger, but I need to keep you interested. And I still don't exactly know what his next words are! I need your vote in my poll to tell me. Vote and hopefully you will get what you chose. And please review, it will really help me.
