Hello everyone!

I hope you're all doing OK! Here I come with a new short story based on my thought on what could have happened after the 6x20 (Three Of A Kind) with the Lone Gunmen. I was a bit disappointed noticing Mulder's reaction had not been showed in the ep so I thought- why not writing it myself?

I apologise if you notice any language mistake or whatsoever, I wrote it and published it rather quickly.

Take care and enjoy your reading!

« How could you?! »

Langly was the first to jump while hearing Fox Mulder's voice. The three of them knew what kind of trouble they would got themselves into when they did it. But they did not expect Fox Mulder to interrupt a good night of sleep to lecture them; even worst, to yell at them.

« Mulder, calm down- » said a voice behind the angry man.

Scully was there too. Oh! That was really a bad night for them all.

« How could you possibly think that was a good idea? Seriously, guys! You could have her killed, for God's sake! »

« Mulder! I am not a fragile little thing! »

Mulder turned to Scully but did not answer. No, clearly, the man had other plans tonight. He pointed first at Frohike.

« You! You among all. How could you possibly think using my voice to get Scully into this would be a good idea? Frohike, you know better! »

« I do apologize Mulder. We indeed went too far on that one. »

« Oh! You think? »

« Mulder- »

« No Scully! They got you drugged! God knows what else could have happened to you in Las fucking Vegas! »

Now turning to face Langly, the blond one froze, expecting Mulder to try and actually kill him. Surprisingly enough, nothing like that happened.

« Never use my damn voice again! Are we clear? »

« Super duper clear, Mulder. Sorry. »

And finally, obviously... It was Byers' turn.

« You listen to me very carefully, John Fitzgerald Byers. I know that was your idea from the very beginning so let's make things clear. You try and use Dana Katherine Scully like this ever again and I swear I will end you! »

Now. That was a very angry Fox Mulder they had to face. Even Scully did not know how to deal with him right now. What was she supposed to say to calm him down even a bit?

Slowly, she approached him and put a hand on his arm.

« Mulder- » she first tried but without any good fortune. She sighed, looked down and then said: « Fox. »

And the effect was there. Instantly. The man's face softened and he turned around to look at the red haired woman.

« Scully don't- »

« Don't ask me to let you get so angry for something now done. I wanted you to lecture them a bit, not to scare them to death. It's over, alright? I'm fine, they're fine, everyone's safe. »

« Anything could have- »

« NOTHING happened to me, alright? Well- Almost nothing. Look at me, I look pretty fine, don't I? »

Mulder finally took it easy and sighed. Without even looking at the Lone Gunmen, he said:

« Don't ever do that again, guys. »

And he left the hidden fortress, Scully following him closely.

That was a strange night for everyone, for sure. Las Vegas would never really be forgotten. But thankfully what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
