Scorpius POV:

I never asked to be in Slytherin. I never asked to be a Malfoy, or to be head of the class. And especially didn't ask to be in love with my best friends cousin. But my brain and heart refuse to listen to me. Her gorgeous hair and sparkling eyes weren't what attracted me to her, no, it was her intelligence and wit. The worst part about being in love with her want that she don't love me back, it was much worse. It was the fact that she's my rival and she takes that very seriously. Her name is Rose Minerva Weasley and if in even expressed my love of her to anyone but Albus, my best mate, her entire family would be after my blood. But this year is going to be different. I'm finally going to win her heart and this may be my only chance to do so.

Rose POV:

I always loved being a Gryffindor. I always loved being a Weasley, and being head of the class. The only thing I don't love about my life is my cousin's best friend. My only rival for head of the class, the only person who can irk me enough to make me snap. The only person who ever beat me on a test or during quidditch. His name is Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy and if I even told anyone I admired him besides Kati, my best friend, half of the school would think I was crazy. But this is going to be different. I'm finally going to attempt friendship with him and this might be my only chance to do so.
