"JARVIS"

"Yes, Miss Potts?"

"Pull up the accounts and the missing files from the time I was away, along with Mr Stark's schedules for the next two weeks, I need to sort out that meeting with the business in Japan that we've been dealing with, and the press are calling for a conference about the deal in China, and there are at least three magazines that are demanding an interview."

The AI set to work as she sat down on at her desk, glad of the slight scent of lemon cleaner that still hung in the air, the maids had obviously sent in here during the night. She was very glad to be back up her in her office at the top of Stark Industries, tucking her hair behind her ear and pushing her reading-glasses onto the end of her nose, prefering to use them rather than her contacts when she had this much work to sort though.

Last night had been strange, after the issue with Miss Lewis she'd taken five minutes to think about herself, and just what everyone else thought about her. What had happened? Usually she was confident, self-assured and sharp tongued. Of course the break-up had been difficult on her, but it shouldn't have affected her at work. If she'd have been her own employer, she'd probably have sacked her on account of her own behaviour.

So it was time to put it right, Virginia Potts was back to herself and back to do her job, not to act quite so childish as she had. The clock on her desk hit 10am as she finished the last of the files that she'd retrieved from the paper bin, It was almost as if someone at SHIELD had been expecting her to react that way, the paperwork was waterproof. (She needed to get some of this paper for when she had to get Stark to sign things just after he'd had a shower, or put his own coffee-cup down on top of them, Pepper didn't want to think about how many contacts had ring-marks on them instead of a signature.) Why on earth she'd gotten so defensive when she'd found out about the others she couldn't quite understand, Maybe sitting and reading the files would have saved a lot of hot-headedness and bad impressions.

Setting Natasha's SHIELD file down, and making a mental note to use it as a door-stop if hers went missing again, she addressed the AI, wondering for the millionth time when he'd managed to install emotions into the device: "Did you find everything? I need to double check I did these right, I think there might be money missing somewhere." Ironic really, She had gotten this job by fixing his accounting mistakes, and now she was almost loosing her own due to her own mistake.

"Of course, Would you like me to print these files?"

"Yes, Also, do you know if Mr Stark attended the meeting he had arranged this morning?" Pepper was checking through her diary, crossing off dates and arranging the list of meeting that she had to work out. The book was soon full of plans, just as it should be. When the computer didn't respond to her question, just printed the documents for her she sighed, crossing the room to retrieve them before setting them all on the desk in a neat pile and picking up her Bluetooth headset, tucking it neatly into her left ear as she turned to leave the room again. The silence was all she needed: "JARVIS, call Mr Stark. I believe he needs a reminder of his own business priories."

Back to work as normal. Well, someone had to take out the trash.
