Inspired by the small clip of 'The Kiss' by Edmund Butt (Ashes To Ashes: Series 3 Soundtrack) on Amazon.

Disclaimer: Ashes To Ashes does not belong to me, but i did have great fun writing this.

He kissed her. Took her mouth and marked it with his own. Her lips pliable under his tender movements.

She closed her eyes and dreamed of afternoons so long one could live an entire life in them. A life with him and when they were old, fraile and time had done away with the years, she would be able to pass on to her other life. The one with Molly, she would miss him with every second, she would remember first kisses, last kisses and everyone that had come between them. She could carry on being a mother til it was time to join him again. She could be a woman loved, and a woman forever falling in love with the same man.
He was shocked by the dangerous recollections of dormant emotions rushing to the surface, tugging at the frayed lace of his heart and ripping it free. Flashes of his arms wrapped around some ageless beauty, breathing her hair, her breath in warm tresses on his chest. Never before had he trusted the pain of a heart so dusty and old with a woman so fiece, so beautiful, so utterly everything.

They could never be friends. They would always be lovers lost in time, partners in crime, Gene and Alex.
