Two male demons standing at an equal distance from each other with a
fierce glare from one with silver hair and a cocky expression from the
other with ebony locks. And a lone human girl with a high school uniform
stands at a respectable distance but close for comfort, watches with
anticipation. Now, this would seem rather odd to anyone else, but to the
suitors, it was all normal.
Such is the silence so dense, that it seems to worry Kagome. Her wondering what is going through the two demons minds. Were the thoughts of victory? Or thoughts of slaughter?
As this scene would normally go, Koga, the one with ebony locks, would have claimed Kagome his, while making undying proclamations of love. Inuyasha, in return, would have then tried to rip his rival to shreds. But, only to be "sit" by Kagome. Yet, none of which had happened.
Then, to her surprise, someone spoke.
The one to break this silence, Koga.
"Well, mutt, while we're here, I might as well inform you."
Annoyed by the rude comment, but not about ready to show it, Inuyahsa responded. "Feh, what the hell are you talking about?"
A smug look fell upon Kogas' face. His eyes taking in the two across from him, adding up to the suspense. "I came to tell you that..You can have Kagome."
From the shocked looks, Koga guessed the were not at the least bit expecting that.
"Koga..I.I don't understand." Was the inaudible mumble from Kagome. Her thoughts went as followed, 'Wh-what? Inuyasha can have me? What does he mean? Is he saying he doesn't..love me anymore? What happened? I'm so confused.'
"Heh..I might as well explain." Koga said, the smug look still upon his face.
"Yea, that just might help." Inuyasha snarled. Though, inwardly, he could have about jumped for glee. Koga not wanting Kagome meant that he did not have to fight the other demon everytime the met. Maybe, they wouldn't have to met again. Even better.
While Inuyasha was busy in his self victory, Koga had closed the gap between him and Kagome with a few strides. He gently took her hands in his and explained in an equal gentle tone. "You see, Kagome, I can't have you. I know I've tried, but I've changed. " He stumbled to find the right words. "I've..well.I have found someone else." He finished with drama that was not needed. All the while a steady crimson blush had crept along his cheeks.
'Someone else?' Kagome thought, bewildered. "I'm.happy for you, Koga." She said, pushing her thoughts aside.
"Really? Well, of course a kind soul like you would be. And don't get me wrong, I didn't want to fall.out of love with you. But it just happened. I saw her and I knew she was the one. I've been spending the past days trying to understand her better, but she's a stubborn one. Kind of headstrong, too, but I've fallen for her." Koga ranted on like this for about another..Oh say, 10 minutes or so. Which caused two very large sweat drops to appear on both Inuyasha and Kagomes head.
"You can shut up now." Inuyashas' smart ass comment went unheard by the aforementioned raving Koga.
Kagome, growing just as annoyed as Inuyasha, placed a hand on Kogas' shoulder, which cause him to stop. A sheepish smile crawling onto his face.
"Wow..she sounds great, Koga. What's her name?" Kagome asked with faked curiousty. Her not wanting to seem rude.
"Her name?" Koga asked, as if he didn't know what she was talking about. "Oh yea, her name. Her name is Kikyo."
