Gabriella tapped her pencil on her notebook while watching a sunset on a beach. She smiled at the summer air, with the warmth going around her with her memories flowing through her mind. All her friends were vacationing, with her mother and her going down to the summer house, where Gabriella could run away from all the problems.
Or so she thought.
She thought she could run away, not worrying about life's problems. She thought she didn't have to worry about anything, just being safe with her mother. But, just one night can change a person's life. After that night, the one she desired to live again. She worried about that.
It changed her.
She wasn't the freak genius girl anymore. She wasn't just the 'loner'. She considered herself fortunate, to meet someone as special as Troy Bolton. But it had to end somewhere. She just knew it. She didn't see any reason why they should forever be. Why?
"Why does life have to be so complicated?" She asked herself. Shed sighed and starts drawing a picture, a well sketched sunset almost vanishing into the horizon. She used to watch them with Troy, a special time where they would just stand in silence, seeing how misunderstood each other were.
"I miss you so much," she said to herself out loud. She stopped sketching and thought about everything in a flash. She snapped back to reality as her cell phone rang.
She picked it up, wondering who it was.
"Hello?"
"Gabriella, it's me, Troy!" the person answered. Gabriella gasped at the sound of his voice.
"Troy?" She asked, excitedly. She heard a laugh in the phone.
"Yes, it's me! I'm sorry I haven't called you but I've been busy with other things…" He said. Gabriella smiled, missing him so much.
"We're are you? Who are you with?" Gabriella asked him.
"I'm with my family and Chad. We've just arrived, safe to say," Troy laughed. Gabriella sighed.
"I miss you so much. The sun's setting and I've drawn something…I don't even know why. One question; why didn't you call me earlier?" She asked.
"While we were driving, there wasn't any signal so I couldn't."
"What about before you left?" she asked anxiously.
"I was packing, Gabriella. Why are you asking so many questions? Are you worried that I've forgotten you? If that's it, I haven't. I miss you a lot, and I still look at the picture we gave each other," He said. Gabriella smiled shyly, her heart warming.
"Okay," she said. Troy chuckled and asked, "So, where are you? What are you doing?"
"I'm in the summer home, looking out to the sunset almost completely vanished by the horizon," She laughed. Troy smiled deviously.
"You're summer home? That's near where I am! Is it okay if I visit?" He asked. Gabriella laughed, really happy now.
"I can't wait. When are you coming?" She asked.
"Do you want to know, now?" He asked her.
"Yes."
"Then look behind you," Troy said, sighing. Gabriella turned around, seeing the familiar face that she had seen before. She smiled, beaming, and jumped to her feet, screaming, "Troy!"
