A/N: Okay, not sure if this should be a one-shot or a story. Here's my very first attempt of actual romance, alright? I think it's a pretty good pairing really. Sakyou/Shizuru. Here's the chapter.
Disclaimer: I do not own Yu Yu Hakusho.
Warning(s): None so far.
Just A Crush
Chapter 1: Just a Crush, Nothing More
-
It was just a crush.
She would get over him. She would move on in life. She would not fall in love with the man, especially the man who was on the opposing team but she couldn't forget him. The way he moved, the way he talked, the way he looked but the one thing that really attracted her to him was his kindness.
She knew when she first laid eyes on him he was different; he was different from the rest. But it was just not meant to be. But why, why had she fallen head over heels for the man? Why did he have to show up in her life and complicate things? Why couldn't he have left her alone? Why couldn't she move on and forget about him?
She sighed and took one last look at the night sky. She was interrupted out of her thoughts by a shout. "Hey Shizuru quit daydreaming; it's midnight," her stupid younger brother announced.
"Okay Mr. Obvious. Congratulations for pointing that fact out for me do you want your trophy now?" she asked sarcastically and closed the window.
Kazuma Kuwabara seemed oblivious to the sarcasm and waved it away, "Whatever. Now that you're done mourning for your dead good-for-nothing boyfriend, we can-,"
She yanked his shirt collar and glared up at the stuttering orange head. She was about to punch him hard in his bony face when she suddenly had a change-of-heart and sighed, dropping the teen down hard on his butt, "Kazuma shut up you moron. Now you better run along to your nice comfy bed before I change my mind and beat the hell out of you. You're lucky I'm in such a good mood tonight that I won't beat you up just for disgracing Sakyou by saying that," she said in an icy warning tone.
He scrambled off the floor and hurriedly ran to his room. The only sign that he went to sleep was the light shut of the door and slumbering sounds from the room. Shizuru sighed in the peace and looked up at the moon, "Well Sakyou it's been three years since you died…on this very night," she murmured to the wind.
She let out a single tear roll down her cheek as she looked on gloomily. She smiled sadly and clutched the cigarette lighter close to her, "It's just a crush, nothing more, nothing less."

A/N: So people, should this be a one-shot or an actual story? I don't know. It just came to me tonight and I haven't really thought it over much. It might be a bit short for a one-shot though...Anyway Read and Review.
