I knew that I was unconscious, probably even dead. I'd seen the bright light and so many people coming towards me. People I knew, people I didn't know. People who knew people I knew.

The only two that I hoped to see I searched for in the crowd. Then…there they were. Angela and Charlotte, my wife and daughter, standing through the crowd of people side by side, yet they weren't coming towards me.

"Angela! Charlotte!" I called wanting to run to them, but the others held me back and still they didn't move. They didn't even act like they saw me, or if they did see me they didn't act they knew who I was.

"Angela! Charlotte! It's Patrick! I'm trying to get to you!" I called again. And again I was held back. Again they didn't move.

Tears ran down my face, then all of a sudden I felt a jolt go through my body. "Clear!" I could hear from somewhere far away.

"No! Angela! Charlotte!" I called again. But still they didn't move. I didn't understand why didn't they want to see me. They were my wife and daughter. My wife and daughter who both I still loved more than anything or anyone.

It broke my heart that they didn't seem to know me or seem to want to see me.

"Still nothing! Clear!" I heard again. I didn't want to come back not, until at least I got to talk to Angela and Charlotte. But I could feel myself going.

Then just before I came to the last thing I remember was Angela and Charlotte looking at me. "Daddy!"

"Charlotte!"

"Goodbye Patrick. We love you. We're always with you."

"Angela."

Angela came to me gave me a kiss and Charlotte gave me a hug. Then that was it, I was back among the living.
