Pandora's Box.

This couldn't be happening.

Teito was drifting off. No, no, Frau couldn't let him fall asleep again.

"Stay awake, Teito, stay awake."

"Frau, I-"

"Shut up."

"-'m sorry."

Frau felt his heart grow cold. He pulled himself from Teito. "....Brat," He muttered. Was his voice actually shaking? It sounded like it. He felt so distant from himself. And he was....scared. He watched Teito's eyes flutter open, shut, open, shut as the boy tried to keep awake. "Sorry? No, you didn't ask for this."

Teito rubbed his eyes. "Why? I just don't understand..."

Frau leaned down and buried his head in Teito's chest. Teito was surprised at the gesture, but what Frau didn't want him to see was the desperate look on his face. "I don't care what you are. I'm staying with you. I'm with you to the end."

Teito ran his fingers through Frau's hair. "I know. Yeah, I know. I know you will."

Frau lifted his head from his chest and placed his lips full on Teito's. Teito melted into it immediately, placing his arms around Frau. He sat up, still kissing him, and Frau placed his arms around him as well. Teito pulled away first, holding Frau tightly, head buried in his shoulder. Frau put a hand on his head, running strong fingers though the brown locks.

"Y'know, I...you..."

"Me too," Teito said softly. He knew. He could feel it. The words weren't necessary. And for some reason, saying them somehow damaged what was there.

"Yeah," Frau whispered. He kissed Teito's forehead. Nothing in this world was going to take Teito from him and Teito wasn't going to destroy the world. He wasn't sure exactly how he knew, but he knew it every time he held Teito.

So he held him tighter.
