He's the spitting image of his big brother. Even now at sixteen, he looks just like him.
Sometimes, I slip up and call him Charlie. I get all embarrassed and mutter an apology. Scott's a good kid. He just smiles at me and says, "I know, Dad. It's okay."
They're so much alike. Scott loves baseball and the Cubies too.
I love my son with all my heart, but sometimes it hurts so damn much to look at him. Especially when he smiles. All I can see at those times is shadows of what was, and what might have been.
