Disclaimer: Don't own it, Don't sue. Poor college student.

Prologue: Day of Final Battle

A new day dawned. For muggles it was a day just like any other. But in the wizarding world, the day that dawned marked the beggining of a new era. The final battle had raged all day yesterday and into the night. Many lives had been lost on both sides, but in the darkest hour of the night, that hour just before dawn, the light had finally won out. The Boy Who Lived, now the Man Who Saved The World, with the help of the Order of the Phoenix, had triumphed over the Dark Lord. He bannised his soul and destroyed his body, ensuring that Voldemort would not rise again. As the day dawned, those left alive were able to survey the damage. Hogwarts still stood, but the grounds were littered with the bodies of the fallen, the grass stained red with blood. Professor Flitwick, Ron Weasley, and Draco Malfoy lat among the fallen. Draco had shown his true colors, as a spy for the light, and had been set upon by no less than 9 Deatheaters after he had killed his father. Harry mourned the loss of his friend, as Ron had beenkilled trying to cover him as he made his way to Voldemort. Many were also missing, and after several weeks were also presumed dead. Hermione Granger was among the missing, and Ginny Potter nee Weasley mourned the loss of her best friend. Strangely, Harry did not mourn her and acted weird when her name was mentioned. It was chalked up to the fact that he carried the weight of the war on his shoulders. Life went on, and things returned to normal. Though normal had certainly changed in meaning.
