It was hot.
Very hot. In fact, stiflingly hot.
She sighed as the shimmering air seemed to move through little pockets of dirt as the hot wind gusted through the old dojo, sending her thick brown braids fluttering with a warm, unpleasant stickiness. "Ahhh," she whispered, raising her doll-like cerulean eyes up to his, "it's so hot."
Unimpressed, the Harmonixer looked down at the girl whose braided head lay so unassumingly in his lap. "Too bad, princess. This is normal weather for Japan. Don't blame you though…bet up where you're from it's always below freezing."
Her eyes narrowed as she gently jabbed him in the ribs. "Don't make fun of me, you moron," she commanded, half-heartedly, turning her head sideways against his stretched out legs. "Where's Kurando?" she moaned, her pink lips turning into a pout. "I bet he could find a way to take care of this heat!"
"If you want him so badly, get off your butt and go find him!" the Harmonixer whispered unsympathetically.
The pout quickly turned into a wicked grin. "I'm too tired…I'm so unused to this sort of weather, Yuri! And your lap is such a nice pillow…almost as soft as Kurando's lap…"
He raised his eyebrows as the princess turned over, her blue eyes settling onto his red pupils as the angelic smile persisted on her face. "How did I get myself into this?" he moaned as his face quickly turned sour. "This isn't going to turn into a regular occurrence, now is it?"
"Not at all. It's just that Kurando went out with Yoshiko, and Joachim is off practicing with that freaky teacher of his. So whose lap am I going to put my head down on? Yuriya's, of course." A smug, contented look beamed was visible on her features as she once again closed her eyes.
He leaned back as her braided hair rested heavily down on his leather-clad legs. "Bite me," he whispered as the air continued to shiver in the stifling heat. "God, you must be gaining weight, kid. Even your head has swelled up."
She did not answer, and he realized she had fallen asleep. Her hands lay limply by her sides, and her breathing had become even as the sweat formed on her forehead.
"Heh," an amused voice said from behind. "Guess she found another pillow after all."
The Harmonixer quickly turned his head. The young samurai stood behind him, his arms crossed over his chest, a polite smile on his face. Embarrassed, the older man felt his cheeks suddenly grow red. "Glad you're back," he said curtly. "Now here, get your girlfriend's head off my lap."
The young samurai laughed heartily. "No, I think she'll be just fine where she is right now." He smiled as he observed his frustrated cousin attempting to push the girl's head off his legs. Kneeling down next to them, he sighed as the hot wind ruffled his hair. "It sure is hot, isn't it?"
The princess turned over in the Harmonixer's lap. With a sigh, he gave up his attempts and sat back. "Yeah. Real hot."
The End
Note: Just in case you were wondering, I'm not a Yuri/Anastasia fan. I just thought that, after the whole Rasputin story was over, Yuri and Ana never really talked to each other at all. In a way, I think Yuri is kind of like a big brother to Anastasia, looking after her and making sure she doesn't get into trouble, even after Ana gravitates towards Kurando in the second episode.
