Abby's Pride
Disclaimer: Since I'm sure this has never been done, I thought I'd do it up myself.
"Abby? Are you alright?" Asked one of Abby Carter's friends in concern.
Who was also a fellow therapist herself as well. Her concerned voice helped to snap the Blonde out of her shock as she turned her head to look at her. "I'm, I'm sorry, what did you say?"
"I asked if you were alright."
"Oh. I… I think I am." Her answer only served to further her friend's concern.
"Is everything alright with Zoe and Jack?"
"Yes! Every… Everything's alright."
Still, her friend didn't feel very convinced by Abby's answer. "Its just… I, I wasn't expecting to hear that Zoe got into College early." Finally explained Abby much to the surprise of her friend.
"She did!?"
"Yeah! She's already on her way to Harvard!"
"Oh my, that's… That's incredible!" Replied the friend known as Megan.
As she still remembers how much of a wild teen little Zoe was starting to become a few years ago! "I know! Jack only just now told me as he'd been dealing with a problem in town while coming to grips with the fact she was leaving him early."
Good to know however that some things just didn't change with him. As change did tend to be an issue for him, especially if it was a big one! Megan smiled at her friend while wondering just a bit more what it was about this town that had managed to change Jack and Zoe Carter so much. "So, what's Zoe going to Harvard for?"
"Medical studies. Apparently she got to help one of Jack's friends give birth to a baby girl and it inspired her. Though there's the possibility she might do Robotics too since she apparently has a gift for it." Abby told her while pride began to swell up in her.
Idly wondering what unkind things her mother might have to say as she had never approved of where Zoe was going in life without a firm hand like her own to guide her. Which was one of the reasons her and Jack hadn't ever really gotten along too well due to her mother's attempts to intefere with their parenting of Zoe. Along with unkind remarks about his own parenting ability. Megan was further shocked by this but was quite happy for her friend. "Well, I for one look forward to seeing how Zoe does in Harvard."
"Me too. Ohh, I'm so proud of her!" Gushed Abby happily and the two ladies shared a hug.
I think you're gonna do great, Zoe! Thought the mother to herself while promising to call her really soon.
