A/N Hey guys I'm back from my long hiatus. The song used in this fic is by, STAIND and its called Take This. Also the Album is titled (V)

Now on with the show. Enjoy!!!!!!!!

Gil Grissom came home to an empty house…it was cold and dark; void of the life he left for weeks ago. Sara was gone, but there was one thing that she'd left a note on the stereo system. 'PLAY ME'

The beat of the music's drums begins to rumble through the speakers as Grissom sits down on the bed they shared and begins to listen:

I can't believe how far I've come
now watch me stumble and come undone
If you take away these memories
Then all that's left is me

(Chorus)
Cause I don't want this
And I don't need this
And I don't feel this
It seems that even though she's with me
I can't shake this
And I can't fake this
And I won't take this anymore

So you choose to break my heart
I should have seen this from the start
I'm haunted by your apathy
All that's left is killing me

Chorus)

Do you believe that the way you choose to be
I've always had to see
The brighter side of this so I don't lose my faith
Now the sun has gone away, it's getting colder everyday
So before I freeze to death there's something I should say

(Chorus)
Though you say you understand
You still won't face this,
Can't erase this
I won't embrace this anymore.

The song ended and he knew she was gone for the very last time.

The question rolled through his mind, "Should I let her go?" He drove to the Las Vegas Crime Lab knowing he couldn't. He couldn't let her go, but he also knew he'd never make (Take This) again.

He walked through the lab looking in every room until he spotted her. Looking intently into a microscope Sara Sidle did not hear the man watching her from the doorway. Clearing his throat finally startled her, "Grissom you're back." She said, her expression filled with sadness as she returned to her task.

"Sara I-Why did you leave the townhouse?" Shifting his weight he waited for her answer.

Without looking away from the half processed evidence she answered, "Because, Gil you did."

Coming to stand close behind her, just shy of touching he whispered, "Honey no.. I left to clear my head, but I never left you… Sara I can't leave you-" Interrupting his own thoughts he grasped her upper arms turning her to collide with his chest. Taking her hand he told her in a strained emotionally voice," I can't ever leave, because you're in here." Placing her hand on his heart he prayed she would understand.

Pushing away from his chest Sara wiped tears away she had cried for the entire month, "Grissom did you clear your head?"

"Yes I did." He answered simply.

"Good." She said as she returned to work.

"Sara will……" Whatever Grissom was about to say was cut short by Hodges.

"Welcome back boss."

Grissom nodded to the pest of a man, before returning to Sara, "So I'll see you later?"

Sara kept her face expressionless as she answered him, " Yeah you will."

He left her to her work but, not before listening to her quietly sing,

Though you say you understand
You still won't face this,
Can't erase this
I won't embrace this anymore.
