A/N: First off, I'm glad to be back! It's been a little over ten years since I've written a fanfic, but that will soon change once I get back into the swing of things. This one shot letter came to mind after I read into Christie and Eddy's storyline and I had to look it up again via YouTube. I'm going to try to stick very close to the storyline on this one, but it may be a bit ooc (out of character) much like my past fanfics.
This will be a one-shot right now, but if I get more than five reviews I'll start with a first chapter (So consider this a prologue).

Prologue
Dear Christie –
I'm sorry I left you so abruptly….
I… I just needed to handle some things on my own. Before I took on the task of mentoring you, I set out to find Kazuya Mishima and finally get a confession as to why he killed my parents. Little did I know I'd end up meeting your grandfather and taking on a task of mentoring a young person, a young woman at that, after the third Tekken tournament. I was reluctant at first, but... I couldn't let your grandfather down.
I can't say too much more about the reason why I left without notice, but I will say that I'm proud of who you've become as a woman. Your Capeoira skills are impeccable, not to mention I still have pain radiating in the right side of my jaw from the time you hit me in it with a three hit combo. I smile at that great accomplishment you made, but only after the pain goes away
There's not a time I think about you or your grandfather. I know I took time out to mentor you and help your grandfather, but I have matters that I need to tend to as well. I need you to stay home in Brazil for now and man the dojo. I'm pretty sure you're upset about all of this… but as I stated before, I had to do this on my own. Your like a daughter to me, Christie.
Knowing the life I've lead, I wasn't sure that I could take on a mentorship, but I've certainly proven myself wrong with you. I'll definitely be home, but I'm not sure when. The way things are going now, nothing will go as planned. I was able to get to Japan, but I haven't been able to stay in one location for longer than two hours without the Mishima-Zaibatsu finding out there is an intruder in the area.
I'll be back and I'll write more, I promise. Until then, please keep praying for me...
~Eddy
