This is the story of two totally different girls. In looks and in temperament, but both beautiful in some way. One was blonde and tall, and bright. But not in the way most people associate with the word. The other, a brunette with a feisty temper and a sharp tongue.

The blonde, who's name was Brittany, is someone people often laughed at. She saw things in her own way, and that didn't matter to her. Of course, sometimes it hurt her feelings. But she never wanted to change herself for others. Why do that when who you are is the best "you" you could be?

The brunette, on the other hand, who's name was Santana, liked that everything was dependent on who you made yourself. You were either at the top, or a loser like the rest of them. She wore that cheerleading uniform knowing that while she was, she was powerful, and people feared her.

Worlds collided the very first day of Cheerios practice. Brittany, a dancer since the young age of 4, joined because her dance studio has closed and there wasn't another around for another hour from her house. Santana joined for popularity. She wasn't about to lead a horrible four years just to stay in this town. She was getting the hell out of here, no matter how she did it.

Brittany saw a girl shorter than her stretching near the bleachers and walked over, hoping to make a friend.

"Hi, I'm Brittany."

"Santana."
