The rock she was standing on, gave the bottom of her bare foot a blackening tone, but that was the least of her worries.
Her widened eyes gazed at the long distance from the rock to the water, she was scared. Terrified to be exact.
All of her friends had jumped off the rock into the water, why couldn't she?
She blamed heights.
Her friends, already in the water, looked at her woriedly. "C'MON JACKIE!" JUMP!"
The pressure of jumping only made her want to hide and cry.
She was about to cry, jumping back she was about to run away and go by the shore, but she felt arms around her.
His arms to be exact.
His arms slowly went inbetween hers, slowly running along the lines of her hips, wrapping around her waiste, he pulled her in. Close, and tight as he ever could.
"Hi," He smiled as he planted a gentle kiss to her neck.
She gasped of exhaustion as she turned around, hugging her hands around his shoulder blades, her head hide in his chest.
"I'm scared." She whispered into his chest as she held onto him for dear life.
He chuckled, she ALWAYS had been scared of heights. Its a thing he always found attractive about the girl he held.
He gently pushed her away from him, though not to far where he couldnt look into her beautiful hazel eyes. "It's gonna be okay." He said to her, automatically interlacing her fingers with his.
"I'm here." He tightly squezzed her hand, he didnt want to let go. He wouldnt let her fall.
She felt a wrath of comfort rush though her. He made her feel...safe.
She sighed, "The water is so far down." She didn't bare to look at the water, only at him. Him and his beautiful smile.
"I'll jump with you." He wrapped one arm around her left hip, bringing her closer to him. "It's just water Jack," He gave her a kiss to the cheek and a smile framed her face.
"But im scared." She shivered the wind making her cold.
He put a tight grip on her hand and picked her up from her feet, holding her in a bridal style. "It's just water..." He said her arms wrapped around his bare neck, how she loved the way he made her feel safe.
"And.. you'll be with me, so if anything happens to you...ill come and save you, okay babe?" He moved closer to the edge his feet almost trembling, giving everyone a sign that he was gonna jump, people moved out the way.
"Okay." She clenched onto his shoulder, her eyes closed tighter than theyve ever been. "I believe you." She let out an awkward giggle, she felt like an idiot of feeling scared of heights, but then again it was a characteristic that made her, HER.
Her removed a piece of hair, "you ready?" He said, kissing her temple and she breathed out on last breath.
"I'm ready."
"Hold on tight, beautiful." He smiled at himself as they both began holding their beath,
He looked at her once last time, and he let his feet move from the edge, and it less than a second they plunged in the water.
She opened her eyes as she came to the surface, gasping for air. "James," she was about to scream when noticed he hadnt rose from the water, but she felt his arms wrap around her as he came to the surface.
"That wasn't so bad wasn't it?" His voice hoarsely chuckled, as his face drenched with water.
"No... it wasn't." She smiled, kissing him softly.
