"Larkkit! Want to play?" the voice behind her asked. She turned around and saw Breezekit, her best friend.

"Sure! What do you want to play?" he threw a moss ball to her in return. They passed it back and forth to each other, without a care in the world until sun high.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting!" the ears of the young cats perked up. Today they were becoming apprentices. Breezekit looked at Larkkit and whispered in her ear.

"Promise me we will stay best friends." she licked his ear in response.

"From this day until they receive their warrior names these apprentices shall be known as Breezepaw and Larkpaw! Breezepaw, you will be mentored by Rainnose for her loyal spirit and level head will let you see further in the grass then you ever thought you could. Larkpaw, you shall be mentored by Swallowtail for his bright spirit and never ending energy will be enough to keep up with you." Fallowstar leaped down from the high ledge and padded over to the medicine cat den.

"Ready to go, Larkpaw?" she heard Swallowtail ask. She nodded and purred loudly.

"Can Breezepaw and Rainnose come with us?" Swallowtail nodded.
Larkpaw turned out to be a great hunter and the fastest cat in WindClan but she was weak, no muscle on her. Breezepaw was not as fast but he was strong and could bring down any warrior in WindClan in a practice fight.

"Hey Larkpaw?" Breezepaw asked. His pale gray fur shone white in the camp. It was a starry night, everything was shining.

"Yes Breezepaw?"

"I- I love you. I always have and always will. I just thought I should tell you." Breezepaw's bright amber eyes were as bright as stars.

"Breezepaw- Oh..." she pressed her muzzle against his. "I love you too." they fell asleep cheek against cheek, knowing they had nothing to worry about.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting!" Fallowstar called. "Breezepaw and Larkpaw have proven they are ready to receive their warrior names. Breezepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, even at the cost of your life?"

His amber eyes lit up, his gray tabby fur was groomed perfectly, with Larkpaw's help. "I do." he locked eyes Larkpaw. He had requested his names just for her.

"Then I give you the name Breezefeather." Fallowstar turned her head and looked at Larkpaw, who looked perfect in every way. Her short light brown tabby fur was perfectly groomed and bright blue eyes were shining. "Larkpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do."

"Then I give you the name Larksong. You two will have to guard the camp in silent vigil tonight." The two nodded, padding off.

"I cannot believe we're finally warriors!" Breezefeather whispered to Larksong after they received congratulations from the clan.

"He made us train for three extra moons, it is about time. Come on, it's moonrise, time for us to stand vigil." She stood next to him, her fur puffed out against the wind, when he saw her ears perk sharply.

"RiverClan, attack!" Breezefeather looked at Larksong, who had jumped to her feet and was yowling at the top of her lungs, when a huge, dark brown tom landed on her and bit her throat, silencing her forever. "Larksong!" He went to his fallen mate, seeing her stomach slightly swelled with kits.

He buried his nose in her fur, letting her blood wrap around him when he felt it, a sharp pain in his neck. He dissolved next to her. Rainnose was the one who saw them fall. She let out a pained cry and ran over to them. She looked up at the sky, and there were five stars out. Two for the fallen warriors and three for their unborn kits.

"Rest well young warriors, for tonight you have lit up the stars."
