Pink Wrapping

Christmas Eve

Clary giggled, the fire crackled next to her as Jace attempted to decorate the very, very large Christmas tree in the centre of the library. Clary shook her head remembering the argument they had when choosing said tree.

"Jace" Clary sighed rubbing her glove-clad hands together, her cheeks rosy red from the cold "Do we really need a tree this big, love?"

"Of course we do!" His golden hair collecting white snow flakes, as he swung the axe into the trunk "The bigger the better! You of all people should know that by now" Jace winked at her.

"Yes, darling in some cases but not this one" She sighed and wandered back into the institute.

A loud thump and a groan woke Clary from her daydream; Jace lay sprawled on the hard-wood floor. Clary leapt up from her place on the couch and rushed to Jace's aid. She brushed the hair out of his eyes as he said "Clary look up"

she looked but saw nothing "Jace what are you talking about darling"

"Look, I got the star on the top of the tree!" He leapt up and began to do a little dance of joy. Clary smacked her palm to her forehead; Jace recognized the gesture to be called a "face palm" in the mundane world.

Christmas Day

The laughs of the lightwood family echoed down throughout the library, the long oak table from the dining room had been dragged in to the library for the celebration. Robert sat at the head of the tabled with Mayrse at his side, Clary and Jace sat holding hands and giggling. Whilst Magnus and Isabelle were in deep conversation about the importance of a sturdy high healed boot. They all cheered when the doors burst open, with Alec carrying a large plate of hot turkey.

After diner Jace leapt onto the table, taking it upon himself to be Santa and hand out the presents. He reached in to his pocket to retrieve a small box wrapped in pastel pink tissue paper. "I shall begin handing out the presents to everyone else in just one moment but there is someone very special person that I would like to give them their present first" Jace waltzed as graceful as he could on a table full of Christmas diner over to Clary. He knelt down in front of her, still Clary might add on the table, and handed her the box. Clary blushed at everyone's eyes on her and Jace, on the table, and unwrapped the box to revile a small velvet box. She let out a small cry and nodded. "Jace your knee's on my plate" She said as she wrapped her arms around him.
