If only...
My Star Ocean Fanfic Disclaimer: Things I will clarify for Star Ocean 2 and/or Blue Sphere and/or EX: I was raised with the PS1 version, so names and any dialogue will be taken from that version (save for the names of the Ten Wise Men, which I prefer their original Japanese names that were later used in the PSP remake). Things to clarify for Star Ocean 1: I am used to the SNES emulated version, so I'm sorry if I tend to jump between translations for things. Again, I much prefer the Japanese naming conventions here.
Things to clarify for Star Ocean 4: None, except my love for Sera and "Stab the Sword of Justice"'s remix...
3 is so completely awful that I refuse to awknowledge it anywhere outside this sentence.
A/N: Always wanted to write for my OTP, Opera and Leon. Here you go. Nothing creepy here, FYI. (Unlike everything else I write.. fuu fuu)
Opera wasn't sure when she started to not feel it anymore- that is, the love for her boyfriend, not the numbness from all the alcohol she had consumed that night. She was still dwelling over how close they had all come to dying, having just learned of Expel's disintegration. Obviously, this wouldn't have effected Opera too much, but she could see it on the other party member's faces easily, especially in the young child prodigy, Leon Geeste.
Sometimes, she thought, taking another drink and wondering where her boyfriend was, I wish he had died in that explosion. Then I wouldn't be up so late wondering. How blind was I to miss all of this back home...? What was I thinking, chasing him all the way out here? My parents will undoubtedly be furious.
She turned around from the bar Brandywine and watched as Leon argued with the receptionist. "I don't have to pay. Niisan pays for me. In fact, we already have a room! How many times do I have to explain?"
"I'm sorry, but I don't remember your face."
"There was a big group of us!" Leon argued.
Opera chuckled to herself and swayed across the room. She was tipsy, but not enough that she couldn't swing her friend out of this little jam, "Excuse me. He's with me."
The receptionist raised an eyebrow. "Eh? You... I definetly remember you." He turned to Leon, "Guess you were just so short you got lost in the crowd, huh kid?"
Leon's temper flared and he turned to Opera, "Please escort me to my room this instant."
"Come on, tiger, although... you should be escorting a lady such as myself to my room."
"I'll do nothing of the sort..." Leon mumbled, turning away to hide his embarassment. He smiled to himself as they reached the top floor and the party's room. "W-Well, here we are!"
"Weren't you going in?"
"R-Right!" Leon said, running in with a red face. Opera chuckled to herself and started back down the stairs.
"If only..." she sighed to herself as she went back to order another drink.
