A/N: So I decided to write this one-shot where Auralee sings to Loki after he was just smashed by the Hulk. Hope you enjoy!
"Go," Loki commanded from his spot on the ground. I looked down at him sadly as I scooted closer to him. A sad smile crossed my mouth as I opened my lips to reply.
"Hush, my broken prince. You must be exhausted." He closed his eyes and exhaled, lying back in the dent his body made in the ground. I heard my next words in my head and began to sing to my King softly.
"Sleep, my precious Loki, let your dreams take wing. One day when you're strong again, you will be a King." I stood slowly, not looking away from Loki as I sung the next part of the song in my head, "You've been exiled, persecuted, left alone with no defense. When I think of what that brute did, I get a little tense."
The thought of the Hulk made my voice raise to a growl, but I continued in a softer tone, "But I dream a dream so marvelous that I don't feel so depressed. 'Cause it leads me through the darkness, and it helps me get some rest."
Anger danced across my eyes as I thought of my revenge on the group who did this to my King. It made my lips curl into a menacing smile as I sang the plan of our retribution.
"Each Avenger's dying gasp. Their loved ones squealing in my grasp. The sound of this world's mournful cry. . . That's my lullaby!" I tore myself away from Loki's side as I started for the door, singing to myself. "Now the past I've tried forgetting, and your foes I could forgive. Trouble is, I knows it's petty, but I hate to let them live."
"So he found himself somebody who wants to rule, same as he. Oh, our battle may be bloody, but that kind of works for me. The melody of angry growls, a counterpoint of painful howls. A symphony of death, oh my! That's my lullaby!" I spun around to look out the windows at the city we had destroyed, and my voice grew softer for a moment.
"Our army is gone, but we are still around, with our plan same as before." No, actually one thing has changed about our plan. I thought and grabbed a knife from my belt, flinging it at a bottle of booze that was sitting on Stark's counter. It hit it dead center as I continued with my daunting tone. "But now I've learned to be a killer. With a lust for bringing war!"
The sound of others approaching distracted me from my song for a moment and I hurried to the stairs. I was down the first few steps when I saw Thor pick up Loki from his spot on the ground. I pressed my hand against the glass wall that separated him from me and sang softly, "Heal, my precious Loki. I promise you one thing, someday when you're strong again. . . You will be a king!" I finished with a growl and pushed away from the glass window, descending the stairs as I sang.
"The pounding of the drums of war, the fighting we've been waiting for! The joy of vengeance, I can't deny! I can hear them cheering, 'Loki! What a guy!'" By now I was at the bottom of the building and I pushed through the huge glass doors leading outside.
"Payback time is nearing, and then our flag will fly. Against a blood-red sky," I looked up to the sky that was filled with smoke from the burning buildings around me.
I smirked and finished my song, almost yelling it to the Avengers in the penthouse above, "That's. My. Lullaby!"
Yeeeeeeeepp. So if you liked my song, mayhaps you will like what I have to offer you now; I have made a video of myself singing my song and posted it onto youtube!
