Mikan's Secret

AOGA HC 600 words

"You frickin' moron! Give back my notebook!" Mikan furiously screamed on top of her lungs as she headed towards a confidently running raven-haired guy. She had been chasing this guy for almost an hour after losing her grip to what seemed to be Natsume currently was holding – her notebook. They already travelled all over the Northern Forest but she still couldn't catch up with him. He was fast, definitely, being a guy. Thinking he would never give up, Mikan stopped, holding her knees while breathing really fast. Her eyes watched his every step as he walked slowly towards her after noticing her surrender.

"Give… it… back…" She said between her breaths, still with difficulty grasping for air. Natsume just smirked and swayed the notebook in front of her. "I wonder what's in here." As he was about to flip open the material, wide-eyed Mikan took a huge effort to grab it but Natsume's reflexes were way too great. He stretched his arms up high for her not to reach it, since he's much taller than her. She didn't even try reaching for it since she already knew she wouldn't be able to get it. Exhausted, she sat down and cried.

"I hate you. I so so so hate you!" She looked like a little child having a tantrum. "It isn't yours. So you have to give it back!" Tears started to flow in her eyes, making Natsume worry quite a bit. He sat down in front of her, wiping those tears. "You're such a baby, Mikan. Come on. I just want to know what you've been doing lately. You haven't even talked to me yesterday. I have been seeing you in the library with this notebook as if jotting things down." He placed the notebook beside him and started to calm her down with his hands massaging her shoulders.

Mikan took a short peek and before Natsume could even move a bit of his body, she grabbed the notebook then skidded away, leaving a surprised Natsume still sitting on the ground. "Haha! You bought it! BLEH!" She grinned. Thought everything was already wonderful for her, clumsiness must have never left her. For instantly, she stumbled upon a medium-sized stone, making her fall down as the notebook slipped away from her small hands. Horror struck her face as she saw her notebook lying oh-so-open on the ground showing what she had been hiding away from him. Natsume stood up, picked it up, then jerked.

"Do I even look like a monkey, Polka?!" He scoffed. "And this is what you've been hiding from me? A horrifying doodle of me?"

Mikan squinted her eyes and pointed a finger at him. "I was actually thinking for an anniversary gift and Koko told me that would be really a great idea! It's not a doodle. It's a portrait! And it even looks like you!"

Natsume walked towards her with a scornful look. "You've got to be kidding me. I am not a monkey, Polka."

"It's not a monkey. It's you!" She peered over the drawing. "And look, there's even fire. And the eyes, they are red!"

He grinned. "I will never tolerate this kind of drawing, Polka. You need some punishment." Mikan jolted and was frozen in the spot. Natsume gazed at her with a smug on his face, his fingers lingering on her face. "Natsume… Er..." She stammered. She wanted to run away from him but his stare put her into a shock, not able to move any part of her body. His face came nearer and nearer until his breath could finally reach her.

At that moment, she twitched. "Ewww… What did you eat this morning, Natsume? Your breath stinks!" She pinched her nose and backed few steps away from him.

Natsume chuckled. "Yes. That's my punishment."
