Eraser
It all started with an eraser.
Jared had forgotten his binder at home, having been exhausted from his run the night before.
He huffed and looked around, grinding his teeth together out of frustration. The teacher shot him a look from beneath her horn-rimmed glasses that made him roll his eyes in the other direction.
That was when lowly Kim came to his silent rescue, a pink eraser between her well manicured fingers appearing in front of his nose.
When he turned to thank her, the whole world seemed to disappear. Nothing was left but her and that moment in that time. He never thought there would be a moment when time stopped so entirely, but it did.
Time stopped for her.
And if the whole class hadn't been there to witness…
He would have taken her in his arms right there.
