In Time
Chapter 1
There comes point in everyone's life when they question where it all went wrong. If Damon had to guess when that moment had occurred for him, it would have this precise moment as he stared across the table at his girlfriend Bonnie Bennett. She hadn't been talking much the whole time they had been there and he was starting to wonder why exactly this was.
"Is everything okay Bonnie? You seem pretty quiet tonight."
"Did you ever stop to think there's a reason for that?"
"Of course I think there's a reason for that. Why would I be asking you if everything was okay if I didn't have a clue?"
Bonnie rolled her eyes as their waiter came to the table smiling.
"Have you two decided on what you want?"
"I'm actually not staying..." Bonnie started but Damon stopped her mid sentence.
"What do you mean you're not staying?" Damon said
"Can you give us a minute please?" Bonnie asked the waiter politely.
The waiter nodded eyeing Damon for a brief moment before going to the back to probably chat with his coworkers about the asshole in the booth they were sitting in. Great. That's just what he needed right now.
"alright enough with the bullshit. Can you please tell me what 's happening right now cause obviously I'm confused and I'm not getting what you're trying to tell me right now. "
"What I'm trying to tell you is that I want to break up."
"What?" Damon asked dumbfounded.
"It's just not working out Damon."
"What are you talking about Bon? I thought we were going great."
"You see Damon that's your problem. You always seem to think everything is going great until it's not. Well I'm tired of it. Why don't you just man up and see what's really in front of you for once."
"and what is in front of me Bonnie cause all I can see right now is my girlfriend who I thought loved me."
"and that's the problem right there Damon. I don't love you and I probably never will."
Damon's jaw clenched as anger boiled within him. This couldn't be happening. Not now.
"Damon please say something."
"What would you want me to say , Bonnie? That I'm glad you're breaking up with me. Cause there's no way in hell that's going to happen."
"This was a mistake. We should have never came here."
"Then you should probably leave."
"Damon-"
"Bonnie, if you really want for this to be over then I suggest you leave right now."
"Fine. I guess I'll see you around."
"I wouldn't bet on it."
Bonnie nodded as she got out of the booth and left without another word.
"are you ready to order now?" the waiter said
Damon narrowed his eyes slightly as he got out of the booth.
"Fuck off." he said grabbing his jacket and leaving the diner in a rush.
