Staring into those golden eyes, I felt my heart bottom out. For a moment I almost took a step back and said no, because those eyes were begging me to back out. It really was almost enough.

But then I thought of the years we could spend together, the years that I could spend looking into those eyes of his, and know that I could do anything with him without consequence. That was reason enough.

"Alright Edward." I whispered. "Now."

For a single moment his eyes blazed with fury and pain, and for a single moment, my lips formed the word 'stop.'

But then the morphine began to take affect, and I went limp. My mouth could no longer form those words, could no longer ask to go back.

My eyes fluttered, then shot open for one moment as I felt his teeth enter my neck. My heart pounded wildly, something that I could still feel.

Still, the pain that I heard about, the pain Rose had said that she had felt, was absent. Carlisle's plan must've worked. I didn't feel anything.

Darkness crept into the corners of my eyes, then blanketed its self completely over me. I vaguely felt myself being lowered onto the gold bed, and the feeling of creeping warmth all over my body.

Then, everything completely faded.

I don't know how long it had been, but there was this strange feeling coming over me.

There was light...bright light.

Voices...

I woke to Edward's lips on my neck, pressing harder than they ever had. I opened my eyes and looked at him.

"Bella." He whispered hoarsely.

I looked at him and smiled. "I'm awake..."

He nodded.

"Are you going to say anything?" I whispered to him.

"Your eyes... They're so...different."

I rolled over to look at myself, and drew a breath in shock.
