The dark of night. No sound in the Seville household. Dreaming pleasantly, Alvin's sleep cap was pulled tightly over his eyes. The silence was all-encompassing, a rare treasure to the inhabitants of this house. But suddenly, a pirate named Thunder stole their precious treasure, and all the chipmunks jolted awake.

Simon massaged his ears, moaning. "What time is it...?"

Theodore shivered behind his blanket, his fur standing out in all directions. "Wh-what was that?"

"Don't worry yourself, Theo. It was just a bit of thunder. It won't hurt you."

"Unless," Alvin jumped in, suddenly on Theo's bed, "lightning darts through the window and shocks you!" He made electric-shock motions with his body, collapsing. "Oh no! C-can't... breathe..." He stopped moving, signifying his death.

Simon rolled his eyes. "Right... Because that's how electricity works, Alvin..."

Theodore gasped. "It is?!"

Simon sighed. "No, Theodore. Lightning can't hurt you if you're inside." He glanced at the clock. "It's a bit early, but early enough to be awake. I'm going to go read a book." Simon yawned, exiting the room.

"Well I'm going back to bed!" Alvin announced defiantly, pulling his covers over himself.

Theodore looked out the window. "I hope the Chipettes are okay..."

Just as Alvin was nodding off, his eyes shot open, and he dashed from the room. "Brittany!"
