Arms wide open, eyes wide shut

"Trust me my love…this is the only way"

"When I first met you this isn't exactly how I envisioned our lives to be" she said with a smirk upon her face. Her back was pressed against her partners as they found themselves surrounded, the space between them and their enemy closing in.

"You probably envisioned a house near the sea, with the waves crashing against the rocks in a soothing way. A life of just you and me, and perhaps the little pitter-patter of feet one day. You'd paint all day and play your violin late at night to sooth and calm the two of us until it was time to sleep."

"You know me too well Amara"

"Perhaps all of those years of living with you has finally got to me. We should have lived that life while we had the chance. A lifetime with you would be perfect"

A snarl and a hiss escaped the mouths of their enemies. The girls stood armed. Amara held her space sword in hand while Michelle took our her mirror.

"This is our last battle"

"And we won't go down without a fight"

As if fate has planned other wise, the mirror smashed into a million tiny pieces of glass while the space sword crumbled into a pile of dust, only the gems were left to show that it ever truly existed.

Amara turned around to face Michelle and wrapped her arms around her tight. This was the only way she wanted to die, in the arms of her lover.

Michelle looked around panic stricken towards the enemy. Her face was full of fear of the enemy and perhaps even dying. She tried to struggle out of Amara's arms but know it was futile for Amara wouldn't let her go. Not now, not ever.

"Look at me, don't look at them. We'll take our fate as it comes. This is our time not theirs. We've done all that we can to protect our princess and now is our turn for eternal piece." She said as she touched her lovers chin with her hand and moved it so her eyes touched hers.

"Eternity with you will be perfect" Michelle commented as the fear in her eyes began to vanish at the sight of Amara. Her eyes always seemed to have a calming affect upon her.

Amara smiled gently. "Trust me my love…this is the only way". Her lips met Michelle's one last time before the lights in her eyes went out.
