Rick Grimes was outside the prison at his wife Lori grave. "Lori if you can hear me… we found more survivors. Between you and me I think Carl has a crush" laughed Rick. "We're slowly losing more hope each day but….. one of the new survivors his name is Joel he says he has a brother named Tommy who has a community so we're going to try our luck there eventually. I miss you sweetheart" whispered Rick.
Joel then saw Rick talking to a grave and decided to talk to him. "Rick who are you talking to?" asked Joel. "My wife" answered Rick. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't know" said Joel. 'It's okay like you said you didn't know" said Rick. "So how did she die if you don't mind me asking?" asked Joel. "She was pregnant. Unfortunately she didn't survive t the birthing process and she was infected. So my son Carl had to shoot her and the baby to prevent her form turning. Since then all I see is her even though I know she died" explained Rick.
Joel understood what he was coming from so he told rick about his past. "I know how you feel Rick" Said Joel as he pulled out a picture of his daughter Sarah. "Who's the girl?" asked Joel. "My daughter Sarah" answered Joel. "I thought Ellie was your daughter?" asked Rick. "Ellie and I met about a year ago her mother gave her up and I assume her real father died I've been taking care of her since then" explained Joel.
"I had Sarah at a very young age way before the outbreak but my wife died when Sarah was about three years old. Sarah was the only thing that matter to me in the world. Then that night when it all started we ran and ran until a military soldier shot her because they didn't want to risk anymore people getting infected" explained Joel. "Was she?" asked Rick. "No she wasn't" answered Joel. Rick couldn't believe what he heard.
"Few years after the outbreak I met a woman named Tess and we've looked after each other since then. But when Tess and I were hired to smuggle Ellie to the Fireflies she got bitten along the way. Over time she and I did developed feelings for each other" explained Joel. "I just wished I told her how I felt" said Joel in a sad tone.
"I bet she was a good woman" said Rick. "She was" assured Joel. "Come on let's head back inside" said Rick. As Joel headed back inside Rick stayed behind and said goodbye to his wife. "Goodbye Lori, Carl and I will see you again soon" said Rick as he placed a family picture of him, Carl and Lori on her grave.
