Superstar's Pain
It was a cold day in London of September 2012. I was at the O2 Arena. I was simply watching Melanie C rehearse for Jesus Christ Superstar tour. However the cast and I could tell something was wrong. I knew she was having a problem.
"Hold on everyone. Mel are you ok" Andrew asked.
"I'm fine." She sobbed.
"Mel are you ok?" Ben asked.
"Yeah I'll be fine. I just irritated my ankle." She replied.
"That's a lie Aunt Mel." I said. Suddenly I jumped on the stage. I ran over to her and helped her backstage. She sat down on the couch and started crying. I hugged her tightly. She hugged me and cried on my shoulder.
"Aunt Mel it's alright. What's wrong?" I asked.
"Angel I've been trying to hide it but I can't lie to you." She sobbed. Suddenly she broke down into tears and told me everything. I was shocked as she told me how she was abused. IN the end she rubbed her bulbous belly as she told me the worst of it. She was with Robbie and being abused by him. Getting a closer look at her, I saw how the abuse affected her. Every inch of bare skin was covered in bruises. Her 9 month pregnant belly was even sensitive. She was skinny and frail from starving in the wake of the abuse. It was scary.
"Now I understand. Robbie hurt you." I said.
"Yeah Angel, you're the 1st one I told." She said.
"I'm glad to be here for you." I said.
"Angel I feel so violated being abused by him and pregnant at the same time. I hate it." She sobbed. We sat there trying to piece together her mind. She was somewhat calm. That was until Robbie came in. He charged up to the stage and grabbed her. I wanted to help her.
"Mel look you're coming with me." He yelled.
"She doesn't have to!" I snapped.
"Its ok Angel, just let me go with him." Melanie said.
"No he'll hurt you again." I said. He grabbed her wrist and dragged her away. The cast came in as he exited with her. Ben blocked his path. Andrew grabbed him and they tore Melanie away. Then Tim went to help them. Robbie was surrounded.
"I don't know who you are but no one hurts my cast." Andrew said.
"I know him, he's Robbie Williams. He's an ex of Mel's." Ben added.
"Current thank you and I'm taking her home." Robbie Yelled.
"It doesn't matter who or what you are, she's not going anywhere!" Tim snapped.
"Alright it's clear I'm outnumbered. But after your little show she's mine!" he threatened as he stalked out.
"Not if we can help it!" Ben snapped. I ran up to her.
"He looked like he was going to drag you outta here. I couldn't allow that." I said.
"Angel I was so scared." She sobbed.
