Today, I have to go to Melona's office, I'm meeting some new ninja who are going to be watching over the village for the annual festival we have in honor of the volcano. Melona only called me in the hopes of keeping me occupied so that I don't get in trouble.

As I walked into her office, I noticed the team hadn't arrived yet. It was just Melona in her office. She was reading through scrolls as I silently closed the door.

She glanced up at me through her red spectacles, her blonde hair was tied back and a chop stick through it. There are dark circles under her chocolate brown eyes, she's been up all night; this festival takes a lot of preparation.

"Hello Saya, thank you for coming in, you understand why I called you for this job, don't you?" Her voice was monotone, I could feel her lack of interest.

I nodded as I seated myself across from her, "Yeah, yeah, yeah I know, you want to make sure I stay out of trouble and don't go out of the village." I shook my head, grudgingly.

She sighed as she put the scroll down, she looked annoyed, "Saya, you are the only one who pushes the boundaries of the village, everyone else is perfectly happy here, they have all they need here. What's different in you? I don't understand."

I shrugged, what am I supposed to say? How could I possibly answer that? I like adventure, I'm different; it should be obvious.

"I don't know, I just don't like being cooped up." I tried to sound as monotone as she did, I don't think I did.

She sighed again, taking her glasses off and rubbing her eyes, "Saya, is it too much to ask of you to just try and be like the others in our little village. You might be more liked if you do."

I looked to the floor, I've heard this all before, she's told me all this before, again, I'm not truly listening. It's a stupid thing to tell me, I am stubborn. She's crazy.

"Lady Melona, I am aware, I'll think about your advice, thank you." I always say that, just to appease her, it used to make her think I was going to change, I think she's caught up with the fact that I'm not.

She shook her head as she put her glasses back on, she didn't believe me, I'm getting less convincing. I'm just waiting for her to put me on house arrest.

Melona went back to reading through her scrolls, I could tell this is going to be an awkward and boring wait for the team.

I sighed as I avoided making any type of eye contact with her. I know if I look in her eyes all I'll see is a look that is trying to make me feel guilty for wanting to break rules… but it is fun! She needs to get over it!
