Disclaimer; I dont own Warriors. If I did, Firestar wouldn't be so MarySue, and Squirrelflight would have a name like Squirreltail, or Squirrelheart, or something better than Squirrelflight!

A/N; This story is dedicated to my dog, Radar, my birds, Rocky and Candy, and all the other animals in the world who have died a tragic death.

Fear. Complete, utter fear. I might die. It's so horrible. Left at home, all alone…

It was a dark and stormy night. Cold wind swirled through the air, covering the sky with a haunted mist. Thunder clapped, and lightning lit up the sky. The forest seemed empty. Deserted. Left to face the darkness on its own.
A shape darted through the bushes, and a creature slid through the leaves. The silent beating of wings, and crunching of pawsteps snapping branches was oblivious with the thunder.

It wasn't exactly fair, was it? I thought it would be fun. You should have stopped me.

Blood followed in the land creature's wake. A long, bloody wound ripped across its flank, tearing at the flesh. Fur mattered with blood, draining strength and dripping freely.
Above, heavy wings pounded the air. The airborne creature clicked its beak greedily, glaring down at the young cat with fierce golden eyes. It let out a sharp caw, which was silenced by thunder, and dived down, talons outstretched.

But, then again, I shouldn't blame you. It wasn't you. I wanted to stay, you didn't ask.

With a yowl of terror, the cat felt the birds talons dig into her back. She turned, just enough to snap at the eagles legs. Pain shot through her body, and she withered out of the brown birds grasp and made a run for it, pelting through the trees like there was no tomorrow. For her, it almost seemed true.
In fury, the eagle gave a chase, lifting itself back into the air and shooting through the treetops, ignoring the branches that whipped its face and wings.

Would crying out have done any good? I doubt it. You had no chance in saving me.

She saw pinches of blackness, and struggled to stay on her feet. It felt like something was pulling her back, trying to stop her with enormous weight. Her speed slowed, but she kept running, keeping to the bushes to stay out of the birds reach.
The eagle let out a shrill cry. It could tell the cat was weakening, and knew the chase was almost over. Diving threateningly, the bird mocked her, pretending to reach down and tear at her living, beating heart.

I knew there was no hope for me. It was too late. My strength had turned against me.

The darkness almost filled her vision. Specks of the real world pulled through the black, but she could hardly see. She fell to the ground, legs unable to keep her up, and feebly tried to stand again, all in vain. The she-cat opened her mouth in a silent cry for help, but her body stiffened before she could make a noise.
Gleefully, the eagle carefully landed beside the cat, pecking sharply at the body. When it was satisfied she was dead, it grabbed her in its talons and dragged here into the sky.

Sometimes I wish it didn't end this way. I wanted to become a warrior. But it was over.

"Where am I?" she called softly, facing the other cat, her body trembling.
Bowing their head, they replied; "Welcome to StarClan."
