Based of off the song "In My Veins" by Andrew Belle

Things Don't Always Change

He tossed and turned in his bed. No matter what he did, he couldn't stop thinking of her, of Terra. No matter how hard he tried, nothing went as planned with her. Everything always broke once they were happy and now, she was gone.

When he had chased her down after he came back, she had left saying "Things change." That must be her way of saying goodbye, Beast Boy thought bitterly.

She lay in her bed, staring up at the darkness above her. She didn't want to fall asleep and then wake up, feeling that she couldn't play this game anymore, only to start the day and keep playing.

Her mind was determined to think about Beast Boy. Terra could still feel the pain of leaving him. She had run away, not once, but twice, because she thought that she was better off without him. She was wrong.

He was all she could ever think about anymore. His smell was constantly in her nose. She could always hear his voice in her ears. He was always in her eyes. She could always feel him.

He was in her veins and she could not get him out.

She was right when she had told him that things change. Everything will change and nothing will ever be the same forever.

His mind rolled over the many mistakes he made with her. Despite what he wanted to believe, he wasn't perfect, no one was, but he was the one to blame, everyone was, Terra, Slade, Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, everyone.

Nowadays, he couldn't stop thinking about her; whether in battle, or just sitting down to play a round of video games. He couldn't stop smelling or hearing or seeing or feeling her.

She was in his veins and he could not get her out.

Everything was dark before she met him. Then, when she met him, it was like glimpse of sunlight, shining down on her face, but she had tried to capture it and it had burned her. She was afraid to try again as the sunlight had cast upon her face again. So she had run from it, back into the darkness.

You're in my veins and I cannot get you out. They both thought at the same time, from what felt like two separate worlds, but really they were in the same city, thinking that the other didn't feel the same way for them.
