"Daddy."

A little girl with big blue eyes and curly blond hair stared at the man in front of her.

"Come on, princess. You can do it. Say daddy."

Marshall Mann sat in front of his daughter's high chair. She had a bowl of Cheerios in front of her, and her little fingers were playing with them. Norah was ten months old, and recently she had been making noises that sounded remarkably close to words. As usual, Mary was taking it all in stride, encouraging but not pushing her little daughter to hit all of the milestones for her age.

Marshall, however, couldn't wait to hear her first words. And he was convinced that she would say daddy. "Daddy."

Mary came up behind Marshall, resting one hand on his shoulder. "What are you doing, Doofus?"

"I think she's about to say something."

"Yeah. She's probably about to tell you to shut the hell up." Mary peeled the wrapper of her candy bar, a little treat for herself that she had been craving.

Norah's eyes lit up, and a few Cheerios fell out of her chubby hand.

Marshall excitedly swung his gaze back to their daughter. "You can do it, Norah. Say daddy."

The baby opened her mouth, and both Mary and Marshall leaned closer in anticipation.

"Choc'late…"

The End!

A/N: I swear, the whole time I was writing this, I kept thinking, "Troll!" LMAO. And my own first word was chocolate, so it's not impossible. Thanks for reading, and please review!
