A Vocaloid Story
Luster
Chapter 1
It was midnight. The pink-haired girl squinted at the glowing blue clock in the car. 12:00 a.m. sharp.
'What the fuck am I doing up this late?'
She looked out past the windshield. It was pouring rain, and not a soul was in sight. The windshield wipers moved furiously back and forth, but the rain still pelted down without any sign of giving up.
"Fuck!" She exclaimed.
Nothing was visible, and she didn't need to hit something in the middle of the road again. Court was a bitch. She pulled over and laid her head against the wheel.
"Ugh!" She moaned. "Why is it always me?"
She laid her head back, and stared up at her pink Convertible's interior. But other than the fluffy, pink, faux fur her and Haku had installed months ago, something else caught her eye. It looked to be a piece of paper sticking out of the visor mirror. She unfolded it and a picture fell out. She turned on the light and picked it up.
It turned out to be an old photo with creased edges. The color was kinda faded but she could still make out one thing she didn't want to remember. The kiss that her and Haku had shared so many months before. Memories exploded into her brain, and one particular one she spent a long time trying to forget. Tears welled up in her eyes. She knew deep in her heart she missed Haku, but didn't want to believe in her feelings one bit.
'I can't believe I let her go.' She thought as she pushed the chair back and laid down. Her soft whimpers turned into long, drawn out sobs. Tears streaked her cheeks like the rain falling outside. Cold and wet.
She closed her eyes and listened to the rain. It seemed to soothe her for only one reason. Her and Haku used to take walks when it started to rain like this. They'd hold each other's bodies in a warm, slippery embrace, and kiss each other till it stopped or grew dark.
Running on impulse she grabbed her cell and found Haku's number ready for speed dial. Without any thought she clicked it and it rang twice befor the familiar, sweet voice she once knew picked up.
"Hello?"
"Um..."
"Who is this? Luka is this you?" She asked shocked.
"Umm...Yes."
Without a moments hesitation the other girl hung up before Haku could even reply back. The fear of rejection hurt her more than braking it off with Haku after only six months of dating.
"Fuck..." Is the only thing Luka could say.
