"A whole year! You took her away for a whole year! My daughter, only nineteen, and you took her for a whole year. Do you have any idea how worried I was?"
He fell silent and looked away. Yes, he understood. His own daughter had been about Rose's age (Gallifreyan equivalent) when she'd hijacked the TARDIS for three years. Three years for him, anyway. Three years were nothing to a Time Lord. But those were three years that he didn't know if he's ever see his daughter again. Three years he'd been sure that he'd never see her smile again. Three years when he hadn't known where she was or who she was with or if she was even still alive.
Those three years had been Hell for him.
When she got back he couldn't make her see why he'd been so worried. It had only been two days for her. She just had bad aim was all.
He looked up at Mrs. Tyler and for a moment she could see her own pain reflected in his eyes.
"Yes, Mrs. Tyler. I know exactly how you felt."
