It was the middle of the night, the wind was outragious, and the cold was unbearable. Ed and Al were off again to find the Philosophers Stone, once again. They have been walking for a week now and they have not come across any city, town, village, or even a campsite. They found no trace of other humans. Ed and Al are becoming more and more hopeless with each passing hour of not finding any sign of civilization. Then it happend.

A flash of light. It came from the hill in the distance. The wind died down a bit, it was a calm wind now. Ed and Al heard the faint sound of crying. It sounded like a small child that was lost. Al started running towared the hill and then he saw a small village. A sign said the village was called Chineladem.

"Al... Wait up!" Ed was chasing after Al. "Hey look theres a village!! Finally!!!"
"Where is that crying coming from? What caused the flash?"

"I really have no idea... Lets go see!"

Al was the first to notice the small girl all alone in the middle of the street. He ran up to her and asked her what was wrong. She had told her that her brother just vanished in a flash. She told them that she has been trying to get him back, but couldnt.

"Whats your name?" Ed asked in an oddly calm voice.

"Sydney" She sniffled.

"Ok Sydney. We will help you find your brother. Whats his name? Do you know how he disappeared?" Ed asked.

"His name is Max. A demon came here the other day and forced the whole village to obey him or else he would send us to the endless pit of stink. If you go there, you will stink forever and will not be able to get rid of the smell. My brother didnt follow the demons instructions to get it the Philosophers Stone. Now Max is in the pit... WAH!!! If we dont get him back soon, he will either die of thirst, hunger, or from the smell. Please help!"

"We will help you Sydney. We will do what we can. We are on a search for the Stone too. We know that it is a very powerful thing, so if the demon gets it, who knows what will happen. If your wondering why we are searching for it, its because we are alchemists. We will help you in any way we can" Ed went on.

"Yes we will help you. Do you know where this thing is?" Al responded.

"Um... Yes, in fact I do. It lives in the cave over there. Thanks for helping." Sydney pointed towards the outskirts of Chineladem, a tear ran down her cheek.

And so the journey to find Max and hopefully the Stone had begun.
