A/N: This was written in anger after my dad forgot how to spell my name. It's a small, almost pointless, if it weren't so cute, piece of drabble. I would love reviews since I almost never get them! Thank you!
Everyone always forgot her. Over the years of her life it had become a fact that no one would remember. They had all started out okay, but then things just kept getting worse no matter what she did.
First, her mother had forgotten her. She had left soon after she was born and Shannon was sure that her mother never thought of her. If she hadcared, she wouldn't have left.
Then, her dad had forgotten that he needed her and went and got himself run over by a god-damned bus.
Next, all of her friends never remembered. At first they were practically inseparable; but then Stacey would "accidentally" forget to tell her about the rave downtown or Mary would not return her calls. Shannon had got the hints and started to leave them alone.
But now Boone, the one person in the world who had always just been there, who had always made sure she was okay, was starting to forget. He no longer came to say good morning, and maybe throw in a few nasty comments, before he and Locke went out hunting. He didn't come down to the beach and offer her fruit at dinnertime. Boone did not say goodnight to her before he went back up to the caves to sleep.
And certainly not one of them, nother mother, her dad, her old friends, or Boone had remembered that it was her birthday today.
But then, Sayid came to her around dusk and tucked several little blue flowers behind her ear; casually whispering into it that Hurley's census said it was her birthday today. Later, after Sayid had left, Shannon played with the flowers between her fingers and a small smile came to her face as she muttered"Forget-me-nots."
