All-American Girl

Chapter One: My All-American Girl

(Charlie's POV)

"You did great Renee," I told my wife as I rubbed circles in her hand. While I calmed Renee, the nurses ran off to clean off the new addition to our family.

We had kept the gender of the baby a secret until we had it. I have been wishing for a baby boy. I could teach him how to play football. I could see him holding the trophy to the State Championship game. He would be the football prodigy. I knew he would be the best. I would want anything for my baby boy.

"Thanks, Charlie," Renee said to me, still panting. She said that she didn't care what the gender of the baby was. As long as it was hers she didn't care because she would love him or her just as much no matter what.

"Congratulation you guys...." the nurse said as she came in through the door. I looked up at her expecting to see a blue blanket around my baby boy but all I saw was pink.

"It's a girl!" Renee squealed. She held her arms out for our baby girl. The nurse handed her over and gave us some privacy. I stood beside Renee to look down at my baby girl. I took her little hand in mine and played with her little fingers. She was so small. She suddenly opened her eyes and looked right up at me. I was met with the most beautiful hazel eyes I have ever seen. (A/N: Okay, I made her eyes hazel, sue me! I love hazel eyes, they are so pretty. Now on with the story!)

"I think she likes you," Renee whispered to me, trying not to scare our baby girl. I smiled down at her and she greeted me back with a big smile and a giggle. I laughed lightly and lifted her from Renee's arms into my own. Our baby girl started to play with my pointer finger while I looked down at her with love and adoration in my eyes.

"She already has you wrapped around her little finger," Renee said with a light laugh. I laughed, too, and said, "Yes, she sure does. My All-American Girl."
