Arthur/England
The rain is pouring in torrents around us, turning the ground I am kneeling on to mud. The gun, pointed at you only seconds before lies discarded nearby. You have won because I was too weak to harm you. The memories of all the time we spent together run through my head and I break down and cry. Despite everything we have shared you are leaving, and I will be alone. You say something but I cannot hear through the flood of memories and emotion. You are leaving and with you go the shattered pieces of my heart, for they have belonged, ever and always, to you.

You kneel in front of me, holding yourself as if loosening your grip will cause you to shatter into a million pieces. Your body shaking with sobs. I have never seen you like this- you have always been brave and strong, I was the weak one but now you are broken. It almost physically hurts to leave you but I need to be independent. I am no longer a child. I cannot always rely on you. I turn away from you and leave, but know that you will never be alone, for my heart remains forever with you.
