Wow, shortest thing I ever wrote, I think. I'm not sure if this i a one-shot or if I should continue it, so please tell me what you think! For now I will post it as completed, but that can change in anyone wants me to keep updating.

(Lacus' POV)
I watched as the children ran across the beach.
The reason they were here with the Reverend was because the were like me in a way.
"Kira..."
"Lacus?!"
"T-they... They killed my father!"
Kira is like us too. Those children and I. Because...
I looked at him, and then back at the picture on the desk.
"Is that your mother?"
"Yes."
"She's very beautiful."
"She died a long time ago."
There is a reason that we are all the same, linked by a single word.
A word that was there in the back of our minds.
A word that means those who may have tried to protect us at one time are no longer here with us.
The word that stung in my mind, like tears sting in my eyes.
Orphan.
Without family, only with each other. That's what are now. A word that describes all of us at once, yet doesn't even begin to tell the whole story.
Orphan. Orphans.
What we are now.
Wow, I dunno whats with me and writing depressing stuff lately, but the only non-depressing things I've posted recently are 'Mike Newton Goes to Candy Mountain', and 'New Future' chapters with Sara Kuran in them...
All I know is, after I'm done with the fics I'm working on now, I want to write a nice, happy fic for Karin/Chibi Vampire!
