CAMERA FOLLOWS ROMANO DOWN TWO FLIGHTS OF STAIRS, PAST SOME DOCTORS, PATIENTS, ETC.
COMES AROUND A CORNER AND FACES:
Benton, Corday, Weaver, Malucci, Greene, Kovac, and all the nurses. A stretcher is behind them with some guy-face unseen- and a lot of blood.
SHOT OF ROMANO'S FACE
What the hell is this?
SHOT OF CAST
Corday: We've had enough of your crap, Robert. We're on strike.
ROMANO'S FACE
Romano: Oh are you? Benton, you agree with this?
CAST
Benton: Yes, yes. We're striking until you're gone.
ROMANO LOOKS BEHIND THEM AT THE STRETCHER. BLOOD DRIPS TO THE FLOOR.
Romano: So you're just going to let that guy die?
CAST
All nod and mutter agreement.
ROMANO
Looks again, shrugs.
Romano: To damn many people in this city anyway.
Turns and leaves.
CAST
Nurses walk off in disgust. Greene and Corday walk off in one direction, Weaver, Malucci, and Kovac in another. Kovac almost looks amused. Only Benton left, staring down the hall. He shakes his head in disbelief.
Benton. So much for that. At least he didn't fire us. Come on, Carter.
STRETCHER
Carter's head jerks up, hair a mess, obviously had been sleeping and oblivious to the whole ordeal.
Carter: Huh? What'd I miss?
