Lisanna and I were good friends. I even remembered the first time we met; we were small kids playing by the playground. We were both alone that time, and we talked. We instantly clicked then. We had lots of similarities. We had lots to talk about. There was no boring moment when we were together.
We used to play all day and talk all the time.
We even became best friends at some point. But she had to leave Magnolia for a while and moved to Edolas for two years. We were both sad then, but we promised we'd still be friends, and I promised I'll be waiting for her return.
Now I don't know what happened to her it was like our friendship was nothing.
When we grew up, we slowly had differences. I noticed this when she got back from Edolas. She was different. Our similar interests were getting fewer and fewer, and by the time I noticed, she was no longer the sweet Lisanna I knew. She was a stranger.
When I pointed that fact out, we fought, and rarely spoke to each other again.
It might be a good thing though.
Everytime I would see her, she would always be clinging to a different guy. She changes boyfriends even more frequent than Cana, which was a bad thing. They were so many I can't even catch up with remembering their names, or even their faces. She always went after the popular guys after all.
One day, I saw her walking with a new boyfriend. I tried to greet her, and she avoided me as if I was a ghost. I decided to go to her and asked her what happened to her it was like we were not friends any more, and that she had changed a lot.
She frowned at me.
"Life changes Lucy and you're just not in trend look at my new friends now they are popular and they also have boyfriends unlike you. I even think that you'll stay single forever you wanna-be novelist."
"What if I don't have it, I don't care. For me education is first in my list rather than going all flirty with a boyfriend like you do"
She literally froze.
"Sorry…" I whispered.
I was shocked with the words I said. I didn't even know that I could talk back at her like that. Especially because she was my friend, former friend. I just didn't really know what is in to her. I just didn't know her anymore. I apologized to her but she just lifted her eyebrow and went away.
I would hear from others that she had a rough time in Edolas. That must have been the reason why she suddenly changed.
I couldn't care less though.
She had broken off our friendship already, a long time ago.
We're even worse than strangers.
I thought for sure we wouldn't get any worse.
Well, I was wrong.
One day news spread throughout school that a new transfer student was coming. I didn't really mind it back then.
I never thought his arrival would change my life so much.
His name?
Natsu Dragneel.
