Story:
As the ice-cold rain beat down on the world, one lonely figure could be found; a small quiet man who went by many names. He sat shivering under a tree. Rain dripped from his unruly hair.
The man gave a small sneeze as the wind and rain blew harder than ever. How he'd gotten there he didn't know. He had just been walking when all of a sudden it started to pour down. Not looking where he was running to, he had gone for the nearest shelter.
His clothes, soaked through, clung to him. He wore only a white long sleeve top and slack jeans, no shoes. He hated shoes or socks.
Just as he sneezed again he felt a hand on his shoulder. Jumping he looked up to see the best sight in the world. His personal assistant and father like figure. This man went by the name of Watari.
He had cared for L since the age of four when his mother had left him at The Whammy Orphanage.
L had been teased terribly there but he knew he could rely on Watari to defend him and hold him.
"L you should not be out in such weather." Watari said crouching down before him.
"I got lost. When it started to rain I ran for cover and I got lost." L shivered.
Watari sighed and pulled him into his arms and hugged him close. "Lets get you home son." Watari said softly, picking L up with ease.'So light' Watari thought sadly as he carried him to the car.
As they drove back he made a promise to himself that he would get L to eat more and put some weight on or he would get really ill. He couldn't, wouldn't, dare imagine L getting ill.
Once they got home Watari carried a shivering, sneezing, L to the bathroom and ran a hot bath for him adding some lavender and camomile to it to relax him.
"Now you relax in this while I get a hot meal on for you and some dry clothes." Watari ordered caringly.
L nodded and stripping, dropped his clothes to the floor and stepped into the lovely warm water with a groan of pleasure.
A while later Watari came to check on him and smiled seeing L so relaxed he thought he might be asleep. He walked over and tapped his shoulder.
L's eyes fluttered open and he smiled up him. "Father is dinner done already?" he asked softly.
"You have been here for a hour now L it was done ten minutes ago." He smiled.
L blushed and stood getting out the water.
Watari helped him dry of with the love and care of a father L never had with his biological father.
When dry and dressed L leaned over and hugged Watari tightly. "You are my real father Watari." He whispered softly.
Watari smiled and rubbed his back "And you are my son." He replied with love.
Watari took his hand and lead him to the dinging room where he had dinner set out. He lit a candle for L knowing he loved candles, scented ones especially. This one was cinnamon. When finished they sat and read for a bit till L dosed of in Watari's arms.
Grinning he carried L to bed and tucked him in and kissed his forehead. He then sat and watched him sleep for a little while.
