Chapter 1

Inuzuka Tsume was having a bad day. First, she found out her husband (the cheating bastard) had died in the fight against the Kyuubi (she hoped he was burning in hell). Then she heard about Aburame Shibi's wife (the one the cheating bastard was with the most) also dieing (may she burn as well).

… Wait, how was this a bad day?

"I say we throw the demon off a cliff," shouted someone from the civilian council.

Oh, right, the meeting to decide what would happen to the jinchuriki child. At least she was seated next to her Shibi-kun...

Aburame Shibi was having a bad day. First, he found out his wife (the cheating bitch) had died running from the Kyuubi (he hoped she was burning in hell). Then he heard about Inuzuka Tsume's husband (the one the cheating bitch was with the most) also dieing (may he burn as well).

Danzou countered, "And what if that just frees the beast? We do not know enough about the seal used by the late Hokage to even consider such acts." 'Besides, I owe his father too much to let the boy be killed,' he mentally added. "I suggest we put him under the observation of a trusted ninja or two until we know for sure what we could do to prevent the beast from turning against us a third time."

"I second the motion," Hiashi and Fugaku said at the same time. It would go down in history as one of the few times (outside of war) the Hyuuga and Uchiha agreed on something with little more than a brief glance and a nod.

Shibi and Tsume glanced at each other, nodded and stood up. "We volunteer to watch him," they said as one.

Yes, I do realize I have the idiot shouting three times. That's the major problem with changing the POV that many times in that short a time span. Also, at least for this fic, Tsume and Shibi were in arranged marriages to people they hated, even though their clans knew how they felt about each other (yay politics). Since the deaths of said spouses were caused by the Kyuubi, they are now free to marry each other without politics getting in the way (yet).

If any of that was confusing, just read on, sooner or later it will make sense (I think...).
