Yeah the title is the same as the show, but I'm not very good at titles.
This my very first avatar fanfic, and a rather big one as well. There are some major changes in this story that I'm sure you will get when you read this prologue. There are some things that I'm still trying to figure out, so once I finished this story I'm going to re-edit.
The story will still try to stick to cannon, so the shipping will stay cannon, no zutaria, tanng, tokka, or any non-canon shipping. There will also be no OCs,unless really needed. I still want this story be a little different than the show, that I'm still trying to figure out.

My grandmother used to tell me about the old days, a time of peace. When the avatar kept balance between the Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. One day though, the Fire nation committed genocide of the Air Nomads and their own dragons. After the attacks the Fire Nation disappeared, they were never seen again.
For a while the world was quiet, no fire nation or air nomads around, only water tribes and earth kingdom. Then everything changed when the dragons attack. Only the avatar, master of all four elements, can stop these monsters, but when the world needed him the most, he vanished.
A hundred years has passed and the dragons are near victory of the war. Two years ago my father and the men of my tribe went to the Earth Kingdom to help fight against the monsters. Leaving me and my brother to look after our tribe. Some people believed that the avatar was never born in the Air Nomads and that the cycle is broken, but I haven't lost hope. I still believe that somehow the avatar will return to save the world.

So instead of fire nation, I put in the dragon nation. Also since this story is big I am going to need some help with this. Message me if you want to help, but I am going to only pick a few people to help me. I'm going the people I pick to help the story.
Like the editing, dialogue, details, characters, romance, and the action of the story. I'm also going to have second author, like when I'm too busy to finish a chapter I'll have a second author to finish it for me, I'll have him/her to start a different chapter, when they are too busy I'll finish it for them, and I still need some help to figure out things for the story, I'll them then credit as well. I need a critic to tell me if the chapter is good enough (still thinking about it).
Although if you ask me to put in non-canon shipping in the story, or OCs as the main thing in the story, then you are out. I might make a little non-canon shipping fluff and make some OC cameo, but that's it.
I'm going to update randomly, but don't worry I'm already working on the first chapter.
I had this idea for a long time, and hope that no one else had come up with it. I have seen stories with similar ideas, but most are like HTTYD. You can tell from the situation the story is in you can tell this is going to take a different route than the cannon, but I am going to still stick to the cannon. I might make the story into different books so all of it is not clutter up into one fic. Again, if you like to help me with the story, please message me.
