*Set on the time where Temari is 8, Kankuro is 7, and Gaara is 5
Temari found Gaara's lisp very, very adorable. Kankuro found it pretty cute too, though he'd never show it. After all, he was a guy. So one day, the two older siblings went to Gaara's room for the first time, where they found him playing with one of his teddy bears on the floor. Gaara looked up at them with big, curious, sea-foam green eyes. "What awe you two doin' hewe?" he asked them.
'How adorable!' Temari said in her mind.
"Well, Kankuro and I find your lisp to be very adorable, so we came here to make you say some words with that cute little lisp of yours!"
Kankuro looked uneasy. "Heh, a-about the cute thing, Gaara... don't take it the wrong way... I mean, I'm a guy and..." Gaara nodded, saying he understood. Kankuro smiled at him.
The Suna Siblings spent the whole day in Gaara's room; Temari and Kankuro made Gaara say various words containing the letters 's' and 'r'.
"Angwy."
"Teddy Bew."
"Temawi."
"Kankuwo."
"Gaawa."
"Thunagakuwe."
"Thand."
Temari squealed in delight at every word Gaara said, while Kankuro just grinned. The three were having such a good time together, since they rarely got to have some quality time with each other. Actually, neither Temari nor Kankuro spent time with Gaara. Ever. But despite Temari and Kankuro knowing the truth behind their mother's death and about Shukaku, they felt it was their duty as siblings to take care and love Gaara no matter what.
Yashamaru happened to pass the hallway where Gaara's room was located. He heard Temari screeching from inside Gaara's room, and thinking he was attacking her, switched to stealth mode and opened the door slowly and quietly, so that Gaara wouldn't notice him, and so he could catch Gaara by surprise and attack him.
But what he was saw was least expected.
The three siblings were seated on the floor, listening to Gaara's adorable lisps. After saying a couple more, Kankuro said that he was going to show his two siblings a puppet show, and so he did. They laughed and laughed until tears came out of their eyes. They were having such a good time that they didn't even notice Yashamaru. He smiled.
'I don't think there's any hope for Shukaku to take over Gaara right now, or to find a way to attack either of them. Just look at him, laughing with tears in his eyes. Hmm. Maybe Gaara isn't such a monster after all,' Yashamaru thought. He closed the door silently, not wanting to bother the Suna Siblings in their very first quality time with each other.
