"Naruto! Naruto!"
"Mmph?" Was the only bleary reply from the other side of the line.
"It's Sakura! I proposed and she said yes! She said yes! I'm getting married!" Came Sasuke's ecstatic voice.
In a flash Naruto fully woke up, complete with the feeling of his heart being cut open.
She had said yes.
Sakura had said yes and now his entire world was falling down.
He'd loved Sasuke for as long as he could remember. They'd been friends for years, and somewhere along the arguments and fights Naruto had fallen in love.
His heart, it was crushed.
Shattered.
He hadn't felt this much pain ever.
His breath hitched as he tried to control the sobs that were about to rip through his throat.
He had to act normal. Sasuke was never going to know how he felt about him.
Ever.
"Naruto? Are you still there?"
Naruto hastily regained control of his breathing and answered smoothly:
"Yeah. I'm just shocked that she'd agree to marry a bastard like you."
He heard Sasuke laugh as he said: "That's just like you Naruto. I'm going to go get back to Sakura. I'll see you later, alright?"
"Yeah. Sure." He answered and hastily hung up the phone.
He started to cry now, big heaping sobs that filled the room. He curled into a fetal position and sobbed his heart out.
Sasuke was getting married to Sakura.
He'd known that they were going out, he was Sasuke's best friend, but he didn't think that it was this serious.
He thought it was going to be a simple fling.
A few pity dates.
But, married?
He'd never thought..Sasuke and Sakura?
He didn't, couldn't hate Sakura. They were friends, sort of.
They'd only met a few times through Sasuke, but he had always thought that she was a pretty friendly person.
He wasn't what Sasuke wanted so he let go. It was killing him inside, but he had to.
It was all too much.
With his heart broken, his throat sore, and his eyes wet he lifted the blanket of his bed and cried himself to sleep. Dreaming of days when it was only him and Sasuke.
A/N: Gahh! The angst in this is just killing me. This was all inspired by a simple picture I saw on Photobucket, a picture of three dead roses. The picture itself was just so tragic and the words just kind of flowed out.
