The Magical Messes of Amelia Broadway
Amelia was glad to be back to Sookie's house after so long. She had thought of nothing else ever since she got herself kicked out. She had never been so sorry in her entire life, even after all the messed up things she had done to so many of her friends and loved ones.
"I'm so glad you forgave me, Sook! I swear I will never let you down again."
Sookie just smiled as she hugged her witch friend. She had missed Amelia dearly, and she was glad she had found forgiveness in her heart after all that time.
"It's okay now, Amelia. I'm sorry I've been too hard on you, but the circumstances were a bit drastic."
"No, I'm the only guilty one. Thank you so much, Sook!"
The two girls sat on the living room, with mugs of hot chocolate and marshmallows on her hands. They sat on the rug, with covers on her legs to keep warm.
"How is life treating you, Amelia?" Sookie asked Amelia.
The witch sighed.
"Well, better than usual, I guess. The coven is helping me with my tendencies to disaster, but I still do some stupid things from time to time."
Sookie laughed.
"Nothing can be worse than turning your boyfriend into a cat, Amelia."
Amelia's laugh echoed Sookie's.
"My list of magical accidents is enormous, Sook. Don't underestimate my powers."
"What have you done now?"
"Well, I set our meeting place on fire, for starters."
Sookie laughed even harder.
"Oh my God! How did you manage this, girl?"
Amelia blushed a little.
"Well, I was doing some spells using candles and stuff, and as I recited the words, the fire began to do weird things, as if it had a life of its own. I swear it, it wasn't my fault! Well, not directly, at least. I was saying the words in the right way, but I guess the fire wouldn't take any of them."
"So, it just expanded and turned into a fire?"
"Exactly! All of my four candles just went wild and set the whole place on fire. Lucky me, the coven has house insurance with a firm that is used to deal with the supernatural, so they cover all kinds of weird accidents, including crazy fire candles."
Sookie just couldn't stop laughing. She could even imagine the scene! Amelia trying desperately to stop the fire, while it didn't obey to any of her commands.
"What else?"
"How can you know it wasn't just this?" Amelia asked.
"I know you just too well, sweetheart."
Amelia sighed in defeat.
"Okay, okay. Well, Bob is cutting hair now, as I'm sure I've told you."
"Yes."
"Well, I wanted to help him with the business, you know, bring more clientele and all. So, I performed a simple spell, aiming for more people to want more haircuts."
The guilty face Amelia was making, set Sookie's curiosity on fire.
"Dear, God. What happened, Amelia?"
"Well, everyone in the coven, and the other humans I knew started to have problems with their hair. I mean, in one night, it grew like almost forty inches."
Sookie's eyes went wide.
"Forty inches of hair?"
"Yes. So, everyone needed haircuts. Like, every day. For a whole week, until I managed to find the counter spell."
"I can't believe that. This is impressive even for you, darling!"
"Stop laughing at my expense, Sook! It's just cruel." Amelia pretended to be hurt, while she just laughed as hard as Sookie.
"Oh, God. I've really missed you, honey." Sookie said, hugging Amelia on the process.
"I missed you too." The witch sniffed. "I promise I won't do anything weird again."
"You can't promise me that, you know that. But it's okay. I know you have your heart in the right place."
"I do!"
For the rest of the night, the two friends just talked and laughed together. There were lots of catching up to do, and Amelia just had too many funny stories to tell!
